Mazda Motorsport led a successful campaign in the Targa Tasmania, as the team secured two spots in the top six including a stunning fourth overall for the Showroom Mazda3 MPS.

Thanks to a successful campaign, Mazda can now claim to have won four consecutive Targa Tasmania Showroom titles. The effort was even more impressive considering the MPS was the fastest 2WD cars on every stage of the rally race.

“We’ve led the 2WD Showroom class from the start of the event but to win in such a manner, beat all the 4WD Showroom cars and also get a fourth outright against much more expensive machinery is something Rhianon and I are very proud of,” said WRC driver Brendan Reeves. “I can’t speak highly enough of how the Mazda3 MPS has performed this week but I also need to give credit to the Mazda Motorsport team for giving us such a great car every day.”

Mazda Motorsport manager Allan Horsley added that Mazda service crews worked tirelessly all week to ensure the success of the drivers during such as grueling event.
