In J.D. Power and Associates’ 2013 Initial Quality Study, the iconic MX-5 Miata sports car and the Mazda2 subcompact both received awards for the highest initial quality in their respective segments. Additionally, Mazda5 ranked second in its segment. This is the seventh time in eight years that MX-5 has rated highest in its segment.
“From the smallest bolt, to the finest stitch, all Mazda vehicles are built to have outstanding initial quality, and to retain that quality long after the vehicle has left the showroom floor,” said Jim O’Sullivan, president and CEO, Mazda North American Operations. “While MX-5 and Mazda2 are our smallest vehicles in size, they’re our largest in quality. They’re both a demonstration that neither price nor size determines quality, only a dedication to customer satisfaction.”
